Scouts: Camp 16-17/04/2011

Dear Parents,
On 16 and 17 April we are planning to undertake some Scouting Activities with an overnight camp that will count towards the “Outdoor Challenge” award which is an important award in Scouting.
On the 17 April it is our St. George’s Day celebrations. St. George is the Patron Saint of Scouting. We would encourage parents and siblings to attend the parade and service. Various awards will be made to young people and leaders from the groups represented.
The weekend itinerary is:
16/04/11 13:30 Scouts arrive at Gilberdyke HQ for Camp, Hike and other Activities.
17/04/11 14:00 Parents attending St George’s Day arrive at Gilberdyke HQ. We will travel to Goole together and lifts for the Scouts would be appreciated. (Please can you let me know if you are going to attend.)
17/04/11 16:30 Following refreshments, depart Goole for Gilberdyke.
The cost of the camp will be £12 per child.
Enclosed with this letter is a Nights Away Information Form. Please can you complete the bottom section and return to me next week. Retain the top part for your information. On the reverse you will find a kit list of items that your child will need to bring with them to camp.

Scouts: Laser Quest 04/04/2011

Dear Parents,
On Monday 04 April we will be going to Laser Quest in Hull (the Scouts have requested this themselves). We will meet at the Scout Hut in Gilberdyke at 6.30pm and aim go return for 9.15pm. The cost will be £7 per person. This does not include refreshments for which you may wish to send your child with some pocket money or a drink of their own.
Please can you ensure your child has the correct money where possible and send it with them. Please make sure that your child brings the slip below with them on the trip.

Scouts Ice Skating
Feb 27th
Dear Parents,
Next week we will not be meeting on our usual MONDAY slot. Instead the Scouts have asked to go Ice Skating and we will be meeting on Thursday 10.03.11 to go to Hull Ice Arena.
The cost will be £4 per child and includes skate hire.
I need to confirm numbers no later than Monday 07.03.11 so please can you let me know whether or not your child will be coming by SUNDAY 06.03.11. Txt (07779412114) or email (peter@gilberdyke.net) please.
We will meet at the Scout Hut in Gilberdyke at 18.30 promptly. We may need help from 1 parent with a car to take some of the Scouts to Hull Arena. If you are able to help with transport please let me know as soon as possible.
The ice skating session ends at 21.15 and I expect to be back at the Hut for 21.45 approximately.
Each Scout will need a Coat and Gloves. A hat might be a good idea. Scouts may being pocket money for drinks and snacks from the cafe.
Please return the slip below with your child next week.
