Scouts

Dear Parents,

On Saturday 06 November we are planning to take the Scouts to Blackpool for a day trip.  The trip will involve some work towards one of the badges that we are going to be doing this term and to visit the Tower and the  Illuminations.

The cost of the trip will be £35.00 per Scout and includes travel to and from Blackpool, entrance into Blackpool Tower and an evening meal.

We will be leaving Gilberdyke Headquarters at 08.00 promptly.  Our estimated time of return is midnight.

Scouts will need to wear their neckers but uniform is not required.  Waterproof jackets and warm clothing (and gloves) will be needed in case the weather is poor.  Scouts should wear clothes that will be suitable for activities to be undertaken and must wear or being SOCKS with them or they will not be allowed to participate (Jungle Jim’s ToweringAdventure land!).  It would be advisable to bring a change of clothes in case the weather is bad and we get wet!

Scouts will need to bring with them a packed lunch and some drinks in a named, small rucksack.  Pocket money for amusements, gift shopping and any incidental snacks, sweets and drinks is encouraged (So start saving your pocket money Scouts!).

I hope that there will be enough seats on the minibus for all of the Scouts who want to come on the trip to be able to do so.  However the number of seat is LIMITED to the capacity of the minibus and therefore seats will be allocated in the order that deposits are paid.  If the bus becomes full I will keep a “reserve” list in case of anyone dropping out.  Therefore I recommend an early reply to ensure your space is reserved.

To book your place please can you return next week (or before to my house to ensure your place is booked!) the form below with your non-returnable cash deposit of £10.00.  If you want to pay in cash installments please pay £5 each subsequent week until 18/10/2010.  If you would like to pay the whole amount by cheque please make it payable to “Gilberdyke St Stephens Scout Group”.  However I would prefer cash as it is easier than clearing cheques and I am habitually lazy!
