THIS EVENT IS TO BE HELD ON SATURDAY 21ST APRIL .

START TIME AT 10.30AM  AT THE FIELD BELONGING TO CHRISTIAN CARVER,MANOR HOUSE NORTHCAVE HU15  2LW.

EACH  SCOUT , CUB, BEAVER,WILL NEED THEIR FULL UNIFORM (NO JEANS), ACTIVITY DRESS, SUITABLE FOOTWEAR, WATERPROOF COAT,WARM JUMPER, DRINK BOTTLE AND A PACKED LUNCH.

ALL CHILDREN TO BE PICKED UP AT 3.30PM

Subs

From next term it will be necessary to raise the weekly subs (subscription fee) that is charged.  The raise has been kept to a minimum and will be as follows:

Beavers: £2.50
Cubs and Scouts: £3.50

Missed weeks will be charged at a reduced fee of £2.00.  If your child misses 3 consecutive meetings their place will be given away to a child on the waiting list, unless otherwise agreed with the section leader.

Subs will still be collected weekly.

Adult Helpers

We are hoping to recruit some volunteer adult helpers for the beaver and scout sections.  Volunteering can be rewarding and gives opportunity for as much or as little commitment as each individual wants.  There are opportunities (though not mandatory) to attend a variety of training courses and to learn new transferable skills that employers often value when presented on a C.V.  If you are interested in volunteering to work with us providing learning and social experiences for the young people please contact our Group Scout Leader (Barbara) or myself.

The postcode for SatNav is HU17 7LX, but neither of these will take you to the MAIN GATE which is where you should go. If in doubt follow signs to Normandy Barracks, Main Gate.

Please remember that this is a CUB PACK trip and Cubs remain under the instruction, supervision and responsibility of the Leaders whilst on the Base. Please stay together and DO NOT wander off or try to leave alone. Cubs MUST wear uniform. Photographs will be allowed.

Cubs have been invited to visit RAF Leconfield on Thursday 14 April .

This will be a one off opportunity to visit a working RAF Base and see what goes on behind the gates.

We will need to arrive at the base for a 6pm start and the visit will last about an hour to an hour and a half.

Journey time is about 30 minutes. We will probably set off together from the Scout Hut, more details later.

Cubs will need to wear full uniform.

Please complete in full and sign the questionnaire which was given out last week  and return to me NEXT WEEK, Thursday 31 March.

You will not be able to go if you don’t complete the form in advance.

Hi everyone and welcome back to the new Cubs term.

We are off to a flying start with the weekend American Indian themed Camp. Please arrive no earlier than 6.00 on Friday evening and please collect your child on Sunday at 1.00. Full uniform is compulsory. Please try and send them with clothes to suit all weathers as the forecast is a bit variable. OLD CLOTHES ONLY please, we are going to be using paint, it will go on their clothes, guaranteed, and will not wash out.

It may be cold overnight, so if you wish to pack a duvet or blanket as well as a sleeping bag please do so. Comfort soft toys are allowed.

If you have any old 1 or 2 inch emulsion paint brushes and any old bedsheets we can have for camp activities, please send them along with your child. Cakes and biscuits are always welcome and a great help to us.  Sweets should be bagged and named, they are not allowed in the tents or Cubs bags.

Please do not allow them to bring ANYTHING electrical, we are not insured for these items.

ALLERGY RISK. We will be using a little face paint, so PLEASE TELL US IF IT AFFECTS YOUR CHILD’S SKIN.

Weather and circumstances permitting, we will also be doing Archery this weekend.

And finally, If you think you are mad enough to be a helper or leader, let me know, I hardly ever bite.
